DESCRIPTION:Packing Dates:  Every Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 – May 20, 2026 (except holidays) 3:45 – 5:15 p.m. OR 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. (except on early dismissal days)\nDelivery Dates:  Every Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 – May 21, 2026 (except holidays) 9:00 a.m. – Noon (except on early dismissal days)\nLocation: Food 4 Kids Room 131 (Lower Level)\nLeaders:  Laurie Hopkins, Sue Imhoff, Jeanine Ritter\nFor some school-age children who receive reduced/free lunches at school, the weekends can be a time of hungry bellies and food insecurity. To help students get through the weekends with the food they need, Manchester UMC is partnering with the Parkway and St. Louis School Districts to provide students with backpacks filled with non-perishable food items every Friday.\nNew Weekly Volunteer Positions:\nFood counting and preparation will take place on Wednesdays.\n\nOn Wednesdays, there are two volunteer opportunities from 3:45-5:15p and three additional slots from 4-5:15p. Volunteers starting at 3:45p will count bags before joining those arriving at 4p for setup, packing and clean-up.\nEach Thursday morning, a volunteer is needed to deliver Food 4 Kids bags each to Peabody and to Carman Trails Elementary Schools before noon. Delivery days/times may be adjusted when there are half-days on Thursdays or Fridays, or when school is not in session on Fridays.\n\nAll volunteers must register in advance; walk-in participation is not permitted.\nSign-up dates are available on Sign Up Genius. We appreciate the dedication of our volunteer team and welcome new participants.
